Allison Canahui has a deep appreciation for the intersection of creativity and technology. As an artist and tech-enjoyer, Allison has always noticed the importance of art in technology. It wasn’t until she attended P-Tech Norwalk High School that her interest in digital design was sparked, prompting her to double major in Graphic & Interactive Design (GID) and Advertising and Integrated Communications (ADPR) at Quinnipiac University. She is expected to graduate with her bachelor’s degree in May 2025.
Committed to furthering her academic and hands-on experience at every opportunity, Allison is currently enrolled in the 3+1 Accelerated Dual Degree program at Quinnipiac University. This allows her to graduate in May 2026 with a Master of Science degree in Interactive Media and Communications (ICM) while completing her undergraduate studies. As a senior in her final undergraduate semester, she has worked on various projects, gaining valuable experience. Her curriculum blends design and communications, including coursework on design thinking, motion graphics, web design, and branding research. Allison’s experience goes beyond the classroom; she is a long-term member of the QU AIGA club and a student mentor and social media manager for The Grove Community Engagement group.
One of Allison’s proudest accomplishments is being a two-time alumna of The Agency at Quinnipiac, where she led the student-run agency as Senior Account Executive and collaborated on client campaigns in the Graphic Design Team. In addition, she interned as a graphic designer for a local vintage store, where she further developed her creative and technical skills. So far, these have been her favorite experiences—providing extensive knowledge about design, digital communications, and client relations.
Allison’s academic and practical skills are centered around the evolution of digital communication and media. It’s the driving force behind her decision to continue her education in ICM, a program about the dynamic digital environment. In addition to her background in design, her expertise in advertising helps her develop consistent and cohesive strategies for brands in digital and interactive spaces.
Career-wise, Allison aspires to be a creative strategist, capable of working across various industries. While her specific niches are still being developed, Allison is eager to apply her skills in digital design, media, and interactive communications to help organizations create engaging, innovative strategies that resonate with diverse audiences.
